No. SteadyFuel creates an anonymous account automatically when you first open the app — no email, no password, no sign-up required. You can use the full free feature set without ever signing in with Google.
If you want to make in-app purchases or restore data on a new device, you'll need to sign in with Google. You can do this any time from Settings → Account → Sign in with Google.
Your goals are set during onboarding when you first open the app. You'll choose your goal (cut fat / maintain / build muscle), activity level, and confirm your calorie and macro targets.
To update them later, go to Settings → Goals. Changes take effect immediately.
From the Diary screen, tap the "+" button next to any meal section (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snacks). Search for a food by name, or tap the barcode icon to scan a product (Plus & Pro). Adjust the serving size, then tap Log to save it.
To edit an entry, tap it. To delete, swipe it left.
SteadyFuel includes 178+ common everyday foods built in — no internet required. These cover staple proteins, carbs, fats, fruits, and vegetables. For packaged products, use the barcode scanner (Plus & Pro) to pull data from the Open Food Facts database, or create your own custom food entries.
The barcode scanner (Plus & Pro) uses your device camera to read product barcodes. It then queries the Open Food Facts database to retrieve the product's nutrition information. Once retrieved, you can confirm the serving size and log the food.
Scanned foods are cached locally — if you scan the same product again, it loads from your device without needing an internet connection.
Meal templates (Plus & Pro) let you save any logged meal and reuse it instantly. To save: tap the bookmark icon on any meal section (e.g., Breakfast) while it has food logged. Give the template a name and save.
To apply a template: tap the bookmark icon on a meal section, browse your saved templates, and tap one to apply it. All its food items are logged to that meal instantly.
In the food search sheet, scroll down and tap "Create Food" at the bottom. Enter the food name, serving size, unit, and macro values (calories, protein, carbs, fat). A built-in consistency checker will warn you if the declared calories don't match the macros — useful for catching data-entry mistakes.
To manage all your custom foods, go to Settings → My Custom Foods. You can edit or delete any entry from there.
The consistency ring shows the percentage of days in the selected period where you logged at least one food entry. A full ring means you logged every day. It's a measure of your tracking habit, not your dietary perfection.
There are three AI features on the Discover screen:
Pro users have unlimited access. Free and Plus users can buy Fuel Credit packs for one-off use.
By default, AI features only receive your aggregate macro totals — the AI doesn't know the names of the specific foods you logged. If you enable Meal Data Sharing in Settings, the AI also receives your food item names, which can make suggestions more tailored (e.g., "you already had chicken at lunch, try salmon for dinner").
This setting is off by default and completely optional. You can toggle it any time and revoke it immediately.
No. AI-generated suggestions are for general nutrition guidance only and are not medical or clinical dietary advice. Macro estimates in suggestions are approximations. Always consult a registered dietitian, nutritionist, or doctor if you have specific health requirements, a medical condition, or are making significant dietary changes.
Open SteadyFuel, go to the Store screen (via Settings → Upgrade), and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed in to the same Google account used for the original purchase. Your Plus access and any Fuel Credits will be restored.
Subscriptions are managed through Google Play, not within SteadyFuel. To cancel: open the Google Play Store app → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SteadyFuel Pro → Cancel subscription.
Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period after cancellation.
Refund requests are handled by Google Play. Visit Google Play's refund page or open the Google Play Store app → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history, then find the purchase and request a refund.
